man weekend

So two weekends ago, the Stewart men (Argo, Will, Jmac, and Dad) packed into the Subaru and headed down Hwy. 103 to Chester to have a "man night" at Nan's house. This was part to give Mom some quiet time around the house and part to see if Dad could "survive" for 24 hrs. with the boys. Well at least that is what Mom thought the purpose was.

Us men knew it was all about going for a hike, sleeping in, walking around in our boxers, grilling some food, and enjoying some cold bottles.

Needless to say we had a blast, and the next man weekend is already in the works.

Parade of Lights

Last night Mom and I went with Richard and Sophie to the Parade of Lights to see Santa.  Will got to stay home with Ingrid because he is just a little baby.  Dad scored us tickets in a VIP viewing section and we were really happy because they had hot chocolate and cookies...not to mention benches to sit on.  Here I am eating my cookie and watching the parade.

Rich took a photo of all of us watching the floats go by.  Mommy looks excited!

And finally the man of the evening arrived !!

Birthday Cake fit for a Beast

Beast loves birthday cake !

What this photo does not show is that William put the flame out on the candle with his fingers. It scared him and we had a few tears (just after this photo was taken) but no burn.  Eating cake seemed to make it all better.

Photos from bday morning

Off the charts

It comes at no surprise to report that William Evans Stewart at his 1st year check up was 120th percentile in height and 110th percentile in weight.

You really do appreciate Dr. Robinson's bluntness at times, "Yes Kim, he's a healthy boy."

Birthday Beast

Happy Birthday William! Will turns one today and it is hard to believe where the time has gone. To celebrate his big day, he has an appoinment with Doctor Robinson. His big brother James helped him open his presents this morning - foam building blocks and a safari truck (which Jmac picked out). of course Jmac wanted to play with the new truck, but he quickly learned that it was Will's present, but Will shared his blocks with James. Jmac began constructing a big wall.

And it seems Jmac has been playing with the blocks off an on all morning long (pic credit: Supernanny BlackBerry)

Boys of Fall

Here are some photos from today.

I thought it would be nice to help our neighbor Jacque with his raking.  I told him in a few years Will and I would do all of it for him.

It was a nice warm day but Will wanted to look cute in his new outfit...hat and all.  Too bad he wouldn't keep his socks on!

1st Visit to the Dentist

I went to the dentist for the first time today and I did really well.  Mommy said she was very proud of me!!  I was a little scared at first and decided to check out the water cooler instead of the "scary room.

But I decided that Maggie my hygienist was very nice and I climbed up into her mechanical chair (ok I was on Mom's lap) and opened my mouth for her to have a look.  After a final exam from Dr. Amys I received a passing grade.  I have a "good bite", lots of room for adult teeth to come in and best of all no cavities. Yippee!!  I think Mom was a little worried since I hate to brush my teeth.  As you can see from the photo below, I was very excited to make the Wall of Fame.

After we left the dentists office I showed off my new tooth paste and toothbrush that Maggie gave me.  I can't wait to go back in 6 months to have my first official cleaning !

The Train !

Grampie and I went on another train adventure (like last January) except this time we took the train to Truro and back to Halifax all in the same afternoon.  I LOVED it and I think Grampie and Baxter had fun too.  The best part was walking around downtown Truro while we waited for our train to leave back to Halifax.  I was pretty smart as I talked Grampie into 2 timbits at Tim Hortons.

Having a snooze on the train.

Reading with "Little Baxter".

Stealing a drink of Grampie's Sprite while we waited in Truro.

Walking out the door to the train yard in Halifax.  Do you notice who is in my backpack ?

This is my "BIG steam tank engine" that will take me to Truro.  I am very excited to see that it has 2 engines and several passenger cars.

Look closely and you will see Grampie and I walking to our train.  I am the handsome one in brown cords if you are having trouble finding me in the picture :-)

I love trains !!!!!!!!!!

Monday Night Football

Dad is away in California and we miss him.  Since it is Monday night (and he does not have any kiddies to put to bed) Will and I figured he might be watching some Monday Night Football.  So we thought it would be fun to dress in our matching football PJs in honour of our Super Dad :-)

Happy Birthday # 3 (or maybe 61) Grampie

Will and I wanted to wish Grampie a Happy Birthday by quoting our favorite Neil Sedaka song. It works just as well when you turn 61 as it does when you turn 3....I think !

Tra la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la
Happy birthday, number sixty one
Tra la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la
Happy birthday number sixty one

Today's the day we've waited for
Because you're not a baby anymore
You've grown into the prettiest toddler we'll ever see
Happy birthday number 61

What happened to that funny face
Our little angel now wears full ups and lace
We can't believe our eyes you're such a parent's dream
Happy birthday number 61

When you were only one you couldn't hold a bottle
Then at eighteen months you began to waddle
When you were two years you could barely say a word
But since you've grown up your future is sewn up
From now on you're gonna be heard so

If we should smile with sweet surprise
It's just that you've grown up before our very eyes
You've grown into the prettiest toddler we'll ever see
Happy birthday number 61

Here is Will rockin the stripes!  He must have gotten dressed in the dark.

I am modeling Grampie's new shoes (Birthday present) and a pair of Will's pants.  As I love to say "check me out!"

Saturday Afternoon Nap

After all of the fun I had with Adrien and Will on Friday night, I needed a little "pass out" on the couch. Dad would be proud of me...if only I had football on.

Sleepover with Adrien

This past Friday night our friend Adrien came for a sleep over.  We ate yummy grilled cheese sandwiches, had lots of fun playing and Will even got to have a bath with him.  I don't bath with the little kids because I am a "big boy" :-)

Will really is a Beast !  Hard to believe he is 8 months younger than Adrien !

Beast Loves to Read

Like his big brother, William "Beastie" Stewart loves to read.  Too bad he hasn't figured out which way the book is supposed to go yet.

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow !

We woke up to WINTER on Friday morning.

When I went downstairs after waking up and when I stopped at the window on the landing Mom said to me "James, are you ok?".  I then replied " Mommy there is snow! snow on the car, snow on the driveway, snow on the road...there is snow everywhere!!!!" then I thought for a minute and asked "can I wear my new winter boots?"

I heard Mom say that Dad was lucky to be in California but Will and I were pretty excited about the snow. Argo too !!

The Basket Boys

Maybe it should be The Basket Boys instead of The Boys Stewart !

big foot

The beast even got an early bday present over the weekend. Check out his feet!

he shoots... and scores

Jmac hit the big leagues yesterday as our neighbour Jacques bought him a stick, puck and gloves for his birthday.

The best line was, "Daddy, show me how to putt the puck!" We will get him sorted out.

Number 3

Jmac hit another milestone yesterday. He celebrated his third birthday in style with a breakfast of an episode of Thomas, followed by an order of waffles.

Of course we had to have cake after a dinner of ham and cheese sandwiches (on baguette of course).
